Canada, By Train
Description: Contains three main sections. The Ties That Bind section provides a short history of railways in Canada and how they marketed their passenger services. The Transcontinental Tour section highlights the Library and Archives Canada's collection of railway advertising and some of the companies that created it. The collection contains brochures, timetables and posters, dating from approximately 1883 to 1952. The Tracking Time section examines the contribution of railways to the growth of Canada, through themes ranging from urban growth to immigration. Important Canadian events such as The Depression and the Royal Visit of 1939 are also linked to railways and trains.

Electronic Collection of Library and Archives Canada
Description: Contains Canadian books and periodicals published online. It includes more than 13,000 titles and more than 45,935 serial issues published by both the commercial and the government publishing sectors.

Federal Publication Locator
Description: Provides access to bibliographic records of Canadian Federal Government Publications in the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) Catalogue (a subset of the AMICUS database); Canadian Library Locations information for titles held in the LAC Catalogue; electronic Canadian Federal Government Publications.

Glenn Gould (Published Materials)
Description: Contains databases, a virtual exhibition, archival audio tapes, and other materials. The official repository for the archives of the late concert pianist, Glenn Gould, Canada's most renowned classical musician of the 20th century.

Index to Federal Royal Commission
Description: Provides bibliographic access to materials associated with more than 200 federal Royal Commissions that have taken place since Confederation. There are approximately 7000 items including commission reports, briefs, submissions, evidence, working papers and other documents.

New Books
Description: Showcases new Canadian publications featuring both forthcoming print and electronic releases from Canadian publishers.

Pika: Canadian Children's Literature Database
Description: Contains over 35,000 records for all children's books held in the Library and Archive Canada's Canadian Children's Literature Service Collection in English, French and other languages, dating from the 19th century to the present day.

Rare Books
Description: Contains 550 searchable images (mostly engravings) from the Library and Archives Canada's Rare Book Collection. Taken from books, often exploration or missionary narratives that were published before the year 1800, these particular images have been selected because they depict geography that is now part of Canada or events that are significant in Canadian history. The site tracks re-engravings -- or variants -- of certain images over time.

Sheet Music from Canada's Past
Description: Provides a source for exploring sheet music published in Canada before 1921, selected from Library and Archives Canada's historical collection.

Description: Provides the central access point for Canadian theses and information about the Theses Canada program.
