Statement by the Prime Minister on the passing of Corporal Andrew Eykelenboom

Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued the following statement on the passing of Corporal Andrew Eykelenboom. 

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Corporal Andrew Eykelenboom who was killed yesterday in Afghanistan.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this time of sadness.

“I know Canadians will join me in honouring Corporal Eykelenboom's sacrifice and cherish his memory in the name of democracy and freedom.

“We stand with our Canadian Forces family and support them especially now when they have lost a valued member.”
