Environmental Assessments

The Veterinary Biologics Section (VBS) prepares an Environmental Assessment (EA) for all veterinary biologics derived through biotechnology, as well as for products including live organisms that may be novel to Canada. The EA contains information on the molecular and biological characteristics of the live recombinant organism, target animal and non-target animal safety, human safety, environmental considerations and risk mitigation measures. The public version of several EAs is provided below. The information in these documents was current at the time of their preparation; however, it is possible that the situation may have changed since that time.
