IYIP is an employment program for young Canadian professionals (ages 19 to 30 inclusive), which provides graduates with valuable career-related employment experience abroad, mentoring and coaching, to build advanced employability. The program is part of the Career Focus stream of the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES) that gives young people the tools and experience they need to launch successful careers.
CIDA’s IYIP delivers international development assistance in cooperation with a variety of Canadian organizations that in collaboration with overseas organizations provide professional employment experience and mentoring in CIDA’s priority sectors in international development. Through this program, young Canadian professionals are able to make a contribution to development projects.
This is the last year of the current Terms and Conditions under the Youth Employment Strategy (YES).
