Accessibility of the site.

This section describes some of the features of this site that will increase its accessibility to users of assistive or non-standard Web technologies.

  • This site complies with the Treasury Board Common Look and Feel 2.0 policy relating to Federal Identity, Official Languages and accessibility.

  • All pages are consistently designed.

  • Page navigation features:

    • The first link on the page (following the Federal Identity information and site information) will skip over the "Common menu bar links" and position you at the start of the main content of the page.

    • The second link on the page will take you to the "Institutional (or Application links)" menu.

    • If your browser or assistive technology permits navigating by header titles, the main (H1) heading on every page is the start of the main content. Sub-headings are used to group other related content on every page, so you can navigate quickly between the sections.

  • This site is designed to be viewable at any resolution. All text can be scaled to suit the needs of the visitor. This may cause some wrapping of lines at higher magnifications.

  • Most graphical browsers allow the user some control over the font size and colour combinations that are displayed. See your browser's help for details.

  • Client-side CSS for enhancing accessibility
  • Tables are not used for page layout. All font effects and other visual layout are accomplished using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). If you use a browser that does not support CSS you will still have full access to the content and functionality of the application.

The design of the Web pages on this Web site are flexible enough to allow you to configure the visual presentation to meet your accessibility needs by using a client-side Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) file.

Most browsers provide the ability to specify a client-side CSS file, which would be applied to every Web page on this Web site that you visit. To take advantage of this feature, perform the following steps:

    1. How to create a client-side CSS file, and
    2. How to configure your browser to use the client-side CSS file
