Telecom Decisions 2001

Since the Commission reintroduced separate numbering and identification of broadcasting and telecommunication decisions and notices as of January 2002, please note that numbers in the list below will not be in sequence.

2001-23 This proceeding arose as a result of a disagreement between the City of Vancouver (Vancouver) and Ledcor Industries Limited (Ledcor) relating to the terms and conditions under which Vancouver would grant Ledcor consent to construct a fibre optic transmission system in Vancouver. In this majority decision, the Commission is resolving the dispute between Vancouver and Ledcor. The Commission is granting permission to Ledcor to construct, maintain and operate transmission lines that Ledcor has constructed in 18 street crossings in Vancouver, and is prescribing terms and conditions related to that permission. 2001-196  CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) Administrative Guidelines PN 2000-17

2001-202 This decision sets out the Commission's determinations in setting the rate increases necessary to allow MTS Communications Inc. to recover its income tax expense for the years 2000 and 2001. Reference: 8661-C12-04/00.

2001-203 Ex parte request of 23 February 2001 with respect to the interim approval of a service improuvement plan (SIP) and revenue requirement.

2001-204 The Commission, by majority decision, approves the Coalition for Better Co-Location (CBC) - Part VII application for expedited relief with respect to the current co-location regime, dated 17 July 2000.

2001-216 Assignment of central office codes following relief of an area code. Reference: 8698-C12-15/01.

2001-217 This decision introduces new service indicators that fine-tune customer complaint procedures, directory assistance speed and accuracy, and other services. Some of the new indicators have been created to improve the relationship between telcos and their competitors, who are also customers when they use portions of the telcos’ networks. This decision also asks working groups of the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) to recommend intervals for specific service indicators that have been identified. The CISC working groups have 30 days from the release date of this decision to report their recommendations to the Commission. Reference: 8660-C12-05/00.

2001-238 In this decision, the Commission approves revised unbundled loop rates that competitive local exchange carriers will pay for the use of the incumbent local exchange carriers' (ILECs) unbundled loops. It also addresses the costs to be used as the basis for establishing the subsidy requirement under the recently-approved national subsidy mechanism. Reference: 8661-C12-02/00.
