COMMISSIONER'S DIRECTIVE 022 - MEDIA RELATIONS

Why was the policy changed?

The policy was amended to expand the list of staff who can be authorized to serve as CSC spokespersons. Managers and knowledgeable staff throughout CSC are often asked to speak in an official capacity on issues or subjects for which they have responsibility or expertise.

The amendment which is technical in nature ensures that staff at all three levels of management (national, regional and local) are included in the list of those who can be designated to serve as CSC spokespersons.

What has changed?

The list of those who can be designated to serve as CSC spokespersons is now more inclusive.

How was it developed?

This amendment has been developed in consultation with Media Relations officials at NHQ and in the regions as well as Legal Services.
