Cold Weather Changes from November to February
at the Canada Agriculture Museum

Free access to the animal barns
As in past years, visitors to the Canada Agriculture Museum have FREE access to the animal barns from November 1 to February 29. The barns are open daily free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except December 25, when the barns are closed. No daily demonstrations or exhibitions are presented from November 1, 2007 to February 29, 2008.

New Themes! Birthday Parties
Children ages 3-12 can enjoy a MOOving Experience with games, ice cream and a special tour of the barns. Children 5-12 can get cooking with a Pizza Party and taste the rewards of all their hard work as well as visit the animals. Round ‘em Up! Children ages 7-12 can make “mud pie” and take a closer look at horses and herding. From September through October, children ages 7 to 12 can enjoy the fall harvest with Seasons of Change when they make an apple treat and a beeswax craft. A tour of the barns adds to the fun. School Programs
School programs continue through the winter months. They extend and enrich the classroom experience in a stimulating educational environment. For more information about school programs and to register call 613 991- 3053.

March Break Camp
March Break Camp will be offered for children ages 9 to 11 from March 3 to 7 (Quebec) and March 10 to 14 (Ontario) 2008. Children can get a taste of farm life with a week of hands-on fun! Registration will open December 3, 2007. Space is limited. To register call 613 991-3053.

Summer Day Camps
Summer Day Camps offer children ages 4 to 14 unique and enriching experiences in our demonstration farm setting. Registration will open February 19, 2008. Space is limited. To register call 613 991-3053.

March 1, 2008
The Canada Agriculture Museum comes alive in March 2008. The exhibitions open again for another season. Museum Interpreters will bring agriculture knowledge, our exhibitions, and artefacts to life with informative and hands-on daily demonstrations.

New Exhibition
Brewer’s Gold – A History of the Hop Industry in British Columbia
This new exhibition will open March 1st, 2008. Hops are an important ingredient in beer because they add bitterness to the sweetness of the malt. Through artifacts and photographs Brewer’s Gold tells the story of hop farming in British Columbia, one of the province’s first commercial agricultural crops.

Tractors
In the exhibition Tractors, visitors can follow the 100-year-old story of the tractor from unfamiliar oddity to commonplace tool on the Canadian farm.
