Applying to a Job Posting

Each job posting includes directions on how to apply — what information is needed and where it should be sent.

Here are some tips for preparing a job application:

• Focus on experiences that demonstrate the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the position.
  
  
• Be precise and relate your experience to the job posting.
  
  
• Include special assignments and/or projects that have enabled you to develop competencies that are relevant to the position you are applying for.
  
  
• Include hobbies or involvement outside work that have helped you develop competencies that are required for the position.
