The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is recruiting in all regions across the country for the positions of Correctional Officer, Parole Officer, Nurse, Psychologist and Psychiatrist. We also hire heating plant operators, general labourers and tradespersons, as well as employees for general services and administrative support positions.

As part of our team, your job would be to provide an environment that is safe, secure and clean, and that fosters positive interaction between staff and offenders. This could involve maintaining an institution's electrical, plumbing, heating or ventilation system, repairing equipment, furniture and furnishings, or renovating and enhancing our buildings.

Working for the CSC usually entails working with offenders. Most of our tradespersons work in a team, with the assistance of three or four offenders. This type of relationship is conducive to building understanding and trust, two essential elements in helping offenders to reintegrate into society. It is an approach that also allows offenders to acquire marketable skills. In addition, in some of our institutions, an offender's work experience can be credited towards a provincially certified trade apprenticeship.
