Species at Risk Act Consultations: A list of recent, current and upcoming consultations on species at risk on a region-by-region basis.
Handling of Personal Information
Canada is bound by the Privacy Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. P-21, with respect to the protection of personal information as defined in that Act. The Department shall keep private and confidential any such personal information collected, created or handled for the purposes of the consultation activity, and shall not use, copy, disclose, dispose of or destroy such personal information except in accordance with this clause and the delivery provisions of the consultation activity. All such personal information is the property of Canada, no other shall have no right in or to that information.
Databases created or used for consultation activities will be accessible only under duly authorized request for pre-approved activity (i.e., invitation to participate in a departmentally-sanctioned consultation activity. Written proof of approval from the responsible Director will be required (electronic or paper) before access will be provided. Storage and use of databases will be done in adherence to the Privacy Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. P-21, as quoted above. As such, only public contact information is included in the list. By entering a new contact, the entry agent confirms, to the best of his/her knowledge, that the contact information as provided is public and does not contravene that Act.
