Citizens' Advisory Committee Forum To Be Held In Victoria
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), in partnership with the three Citizens' Advisory Committees based on Vancouver Island, will sponsor a forum next month on the successful re-integration of federal offenders into the community. The forum, entitled Working Together for Safe and Successful Re-entry, is a follow-up to the March 2006 forum held in Victoria, B.C.
This year's forum will provide delegates from CSC, the NPB and civic leaders with a chance to discuss aids and impediments to successful re-entry with an offender who has first-hand knowledge and experience with the challenges of returning to the community after a lengthy period of incarceration.
The Association of Vancouver Island and Costal Communities Executive supports the forum. Planning continues to ensure the day includes an interesting slate of speakers, breakout groups, and a plenary question-and-answer session.
