The CRRF regrets to announce the cancellation of the October 2005 call for the Initiatives Against Racism (IAR) program. We will again welcome proposals for a Call on February 1, 2006
As you may know, the Foundation's operating income is derived from interest from the investment of a one time endowment as part of the Japanese Canadian Redress Agreement. Needless to say, the poor performance of investments in recent years has left us, along with most other foundations, with a budget shortfall in the current fiscal year, thereby limiting our abilities to deliver on some programs to the levels we had hoped. We do not receive any government funding and we are continuing our fundraising efforts to increase our capacity, and in particular our ability to support community initiatives.
The CRRF regrets any inconvenience this may cause our community partners. The CRRF is committed to building a national framework for the fight against racism in Canadian society, and will continue to support community initiatives and public education activities across Canada in a variety of ways through the IAR and other programs.
