Intentional and Unintentional Injury, Repair and Rehabilitation Initiative
The
Intentional and Unintentional Injury, Repair and Rehabilitation Initiative has a mandate to reduce the burden of injuries among Canadians. As a multi-institute strategic initiative of
CIHR, it was developed to foster research in the areas of injury prevention, control and rehabilitation and bring together leading Canadian researchers and decision makers to identify strategic priorities for research, capacity building, knowledge translation and infrastructure support for the management of Injury. These individuals identified four content areas that dominate research in this area: unintentional and intentional injury prevention, acute care, and rehabilitation. The initiative's main aspiration for the coming years is to support a number of multidisciplinary teams involved in Applied Injury Research while promoting collaboration between young and experienced researchers and hospitals, universities and other interested organizations and institutions.
