Reducing Health Disparities Initiative

The Reducing Health Disparities Initiative is a multi-institute strategic research initiative addressing the reduction of health disparities and the promotion of equity for vulnerable populations. With an emphasis on excellence in research, the Initiative aims to exert a national as well as international impact on health status, health behaviours, and the use and delivery of health services. The Initiative is pursuing its stated goals by supporting research projects; building research capacity, promoting interdisciplinary team work, encouraging partnerships between institutions of higher learning, policy makers, practitioners and the general community; and translating research knowledge into information that will inform programs, policies and practices in health and health related sectors.
