Description

The CIHR Institute of Aging Age+ Award recognizes excellence in research on aging carried out by emerging Canadian scholars. It is awarded to 10 to 12 authors annually of a published, scientific article on aging. The Age+ Award is aimed at graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and residents from all disciplines, working in the field of aging. Articles may cover any of the Institute's priority research topics. A profile of the award recipient's research will be posted on the Institute of Aging website.

Funds Available

CIHR's contribution to the amount available for these awards is subject to availability of funds voted annually to CIHR by parliamentary appropriations, and the conditions that may be attached to them.

Objectives

Eligibility

Graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, residents can submit their paper OR supervisors or co-investigators involved in the research can submit the paper of their trainee (in these cases, the trainee must be copied in the correspondence). In cases of equal co-author(s) meeting the above eligibility criteria, all such co-authors and their supervisors must be copied on the correspondence accompanying the submission. This serves to confirm that only interested eligible equal co-authors are applying for the award which will be shared equally among them.
