International Day of Older Persons on October 1st, the
WHO Age-Friendly Cities Guide was launched in London at a press conference with the World Health Organization, the Public Health Agency of Canada and Help the Aged (
UK).
The Institute of Aging Biennial Report 2005-2007 is now published.

- 4th Canadian Colloquium on Dementia (CCD) to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, October 18-20, 2007. IA is sponsoring the inaugural "Cognitive Impairment in Aging (CIA) Partnership Workshop for Emerging Careers in Research" on the afternoon of October 18th.
- "Fragility: From Concept to Research to Practice" is a one-day pre-CAG (Canadian Association on Gerontology) multidisciplinary symposium sponsored by IA on November 1st. Program details and registration are available on the CAG website.
