Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) On-Reserve
RRAP On-Reserve offers financial assistance to Band Councils and Band members to repair substandard homes to a minimum level of health and safety and to improve the accessibility of housing for disabled persons.
Who is eligible?
Band Councils or individual homeowners that require repairs to their homes may be eligible to apply.
How does it work?
Households who have a limited income, may be eligible to receive funding if their house lacks basic facilities or is in need of major repair in one or more of the following categories:

Structural
-
Electrical
-
Plumbing
-
Heating or
-
Fire safety
Assistance may also be available to address a problem with overcrowding. Work carried out prior to approval is not eligible. Dwellings must be a minimum of five years old.

Zone 2 | Northern Areas of Canada | $19,000* |
Zone 3 | NWT, Yukon, Labrador and Northern Quebec | $24,000* |
*for remote areas the maximum total loan may be increased by an additional 25 percent.
Funding for this program is limited and the application process should be completed early in the year. Applications may be obtained through your delivery agent. This may be your Band Council, CMHC, or an agent who is responsible for the delivery of RRAP in your area. The RRAP delivery agent can tell you which repairs are eligible under the program, help you complete the application and answer your questions.
