Marlene Reimer Brain Star of the Year award

Good morning,

I am pleased to announce that Marnie Duncan and Marja Van Sickle from the University of Calgary are the recipient of the first Marlene Reimer Brain Star of the Year award. Marnie and Marja receive the arward for an article published in October 2005 in Science on the discovery of functional cannabinoid receptors in the brainstem. They were the Brain Star awardees of July 1, 2006.

Marlene Reimer was an inaugural member of INMHA advisory board, the first chair of its focus group on training and education and a strong supporter of the Brain Star Award. She unfortunately passed away in 2005.
