As of the July 2007 launch, two new funding programs will be offered by CIHR - the Catalyst Grant program and the Meetings, Planning and Dissemination Grant program. These two new programs will be ongoing programs of CIHR, now part of the regular suite of programs offered by CIHR to the research community.

A pilot competition of the new Meetings, Planning and Dissemination Grant Program will take place in the fall, with applications due October 1st 2007. This new funding mechanism will provide funding for meetings, including planning and development meetings, and will additionally provide funding for knowledge dissemination activities associated with CIHR grants. Eventually, this new program will replace the Workshops and Symposia programs offered by CIHR Institutes, Initiatives and Branches. Applications to this program must be submitted electronically using ResearchNet.
These new funding programs can be found using the new CIHR Funding Opportunity Database. Using the "Program Type" option, select "Catalyst Grant" or "Meetings, Planning and Dissemination Grant" from the drop-down menu and click on "Search".
