A draft questionnaire designed to capture data about research processes and outputs has been developed. A focus group to review the questionnaire was held at the University of Ottawa. CIHR is now at the crucial step of field testing the questionnaire with up to 1400 Principal Investigators, selected at random from the CIHR database, whose research finished at some point during the last 5 years. A sub-sample of respondents will subsequently be contacted for their detailed feedback on the process of completing this questionnaire before it is converted into a new electronic form on the CIHR ResearchNet system.
During the latter half of the month of September 2007, if you have been selected, you will receive an invitation from CIHR to fill out a web survey for this purpose. Your participation is greatly appreciated, and your input will have a definite impact on changes and/or improvements to the conceptual design and development of the tool that will be released and become mandatory over the course of the fiscal year 2008-2009.
