The small business information seminar program is designed primarily to benefit the small business entrepreneur. It is intended to help those who are about to start a business, as well as those who have just begun to operate a business.

Summary

The contents of the program are divided into three separate modules.

Module I - Government Services

This module gives you an overview of the Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) roles and responsibilities. It outlines some of the services offered by the CRA, as well as those of other Government departments.

Module II - Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax

In this module, you will find general information to help you comply with the Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST).

Module III - Income Tax

This module is divided into three parts: Part 1: Starting Your Business; Part 2: Rights and Obligations; and Part 3: Income and Expenses.
