About our Logo

CIHR Logo

The universal symbol of Canada, the maple leaf, is presented in its green version as a symbol of life, hope, regeneration and health.

Four stylized silhouettes represent both the various levels of health research and the communities they serve. Their fluid style creates an impression of continuous movement, illustrating the sharing of knowledge as each figure blends in with the other. The fact that no borders restrain them within the leaf serves as a further illustration of the integrative and international aspects of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Finally, the silhouettes are positioned in an upward movement symbolizing new heights in scientific discovery.
