Who Protects and Preserves Nature in Canada

Where is the world’s largest collection of Canadian birds on display? At the Canadian Museum of Nature. The museum, which also features Canadian wildlife and dinosaurs, is one of the many organizations that promote and protect nature in Canada.

One of the largest governmental organizations protecting nature is the Parks Canada Agency. The agency administers protected areas, including 41 national parks, two national marine conservation areas, and 149 national historic sites across Canada.

You will also find private organizations such as Nature Canada. With 40,000 members and donors, this group aims to conserve and protect nature. It uses publications, educational programs, and materials to raise awareness of issues in the conservation of Canada’s natural heritage.

Nature Canada is a partner of the Canadian Nature Network, a national alliance of naturalist federations and clubs. The network involves more than 100,000 naturalists from across the country and speaks about national parks, endangered species, and many other issues.
