Free Admission in celebration of Mother's Day and International Museum Day at the Canada Agriculture Museum

Free Admission in celebration of
Mother's Day and International Museum Day
at the Canada Agriculture Museum

OTTAWA, April 28, 2006
For immediate release

Mothers, grandmothers and the whole family can join in special activities at the Canada Agriculture Museum to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 14, as well as International Museum Day. Visitors will learn about "farm mothers", the animals that work year round to produce many of the foods on which we depend. International Museum Day has been celebrated all over the world since 1977. Free admission to all.

The Canada Agriculture Museum recognizes the importance of mothers on the farm. Most farm animals are in large majority mothers! These "farm mothers" will be identified throughout the Canada Agriculture Museum with signs highlighting interesting facts about them. Visitors can find these signs in participating in a "special moms" scavenger hunt.

To celebrate Mother's Day at the Canada Agriculture Museum, children and adults of all ages can participate in a panoply of demonstrations from ice cream making and oatmeal cookie making to meet the lambs and kids. Children can make a special craft as a gift for mom, colour Mother's Day theme pictures and participate in a Mother's Day race.
