Housing Market Information

CMHC collects data on housing starts, completions, and dwellings under construction, as well as market absorption, mortgage loan approvals, interest rates, rental market conditions and intentions to buy or renovate a home. Rental and intentions data are based on annual surveys, while all other data are collected monthly. Data for specific localities or aggregated to the provincial or national level are available in a variety of free statistical publications. In addition, a number of publications provide analysis and forecasts to help Canadians make informed decisions with respect to the housing market.
