Canadian Health Research Awards A Celebration of Excellence

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), in collaboration with the Health Charities Coalition of Canada, Research Canada: An Alliance for Health Discovery (formerly the Council for Health Research in Canada), The Globe and Mail and provincial health research organizations, is proud to present the sixth annual Canadian Health Research Awards, in recognition of Canada's best and brightest health researchers. This special evening will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.

Canadian Institutes of Health Research
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is the Government of Canada's agency for health research. CIHR's mission is to create new scientific knowledge and to catalyze its translation into improved health, more effective health services and products, and a strengthened Canadian health-care system. Composed of 13 Institutes, CIHR provides leadership and support to more than 11,000 health researchers and trainees across Canada.

Health Charities Coalition of Canada
Established in 2000, the Health Charities Coalition of Canada (HCCC) represents national health charities of all sizes and is a collective authoritative voice in public policy and health research issues that affect the lives of Canadians.

HCCC advocates to the federal government and its agencies with a united voice on public policy issues related to the charitable health sector. Member organizations bring together a wealth of knowledge, expertise, experience and resources, all of which improve the health of Canadians and strengthen Canada's health system.

Research Canada: An Alliance for Health Discovery
Research Canada: An Alliance for Health Discovery (formerly the Council for Health Research in Canada) is a not-for-profit, voluntary organization that is the national voice for health research advocacy in Canada. Working for all Canadians, its membership is drawn from all sectors dedicated to increasing investments in health research, including the leading health research institutes, national health charities, hospitals, regional health authorities, universities, private industry and others.
