SECRETARY OF STATE PARADIS TO ANNOUNCE FUNDING TO COMBAT DISEASE IN THE HOG SECTOR

OTTAWA, Ontario, August 20, 2007 - The Honourable Christian Paradis, Secretary of State for Agriculture, on behalf of the Honourable Gerry Ritz, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, will be in St-Narcisse-de-Beaurivage, today, to announce funding to combat disease in the hog sector. The Secretary of State will be introduced by Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière.

Following the announcement, Mr. Paradis will be available to speak to the media. Hog industry representatives will also be present.
