COME CELEBRATE AGRICULTURE IN THE CITY

OTTAWA, Ontario, September 6, 2007 – Come learn how research and innovation conducted by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) on the Central Experimental Farm is helping to produce higher quality food and to protect Canada’s environment.

Find out more about the experimental crops that grow on the Farm. See some of the 16 million specimens from AAFC’s world-renowned insect collection which is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Learn about good bugs and bad bugs, as well as biofuels.

The public is invited to bring non-perishable food items or pick vegetables from our garden which will go to the Ottawa Food Bank.
