Wheat Storage Program
The Wheat Storage Program will close on July 31, 2007.
The premiums currently in effect (see below) will not change before the program deadline.
Important: To compensate for a lack of bin space due to storing grain under the program, farmers will receive an early delivery opportunity for 2007-08 crop equal to the number of tonnes committed to the WSP, in addition to regular delivery calls in effect.

The Wheat Storage Program (WSP) is a delivery option that allows you to receive a contract premium and storage payment to store your high-quality, high-protein, No. 1 Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat on-farm.
Farmers can sign-up by faxing the 2007-08 Wheat Storage Program Contract Sign-up Application to the CWB at 1-204-983-8031 or by calling 1-800-275-4292 with your CWB producer ID number and PIN.
Program details:
- farmers can sign up with a minimum of 80 tonnes
- farmers must send a representative sample to confirm the grain meets the program requirements
- contract is accepted once grade and protein is confirmed as No. 1 CWRS 14.5 to 14.9 protein or as No. 1 CWRS 15.0 protein and higher
- farmer receive a premium once the grain is accepted into the program
- farmers receive storage payments of $1 per tonne per month from the date of contract sign-up until the cash ticket date or expiration of the delivery call, whichever is earlier
- CWB guarantees 100 per cent acceptance of grain committed to the program
- farmers are expected to deliver 100 per cent of tonnes committed to the program
- CWB guarantees delivery call by July 31, 2008 and once announced, farmers have 30 days to deliver their grain
- early delivery opportunity in 2007-08 to compensate for lack of bin space for new crop production
- farmers can choose which pool return they wish to receive
- if no choice is made by July 31, 2007, farmers will automatically receive the 2007-08 pool return.
