Thousands of BC Hydro customers remained without power Wednesday morning, two days after a storm swept across British Columbia taking down power lines and trees.
BC Hydro crews continued to make progress in getting the lights back on but about 300 areas were awaiting repairs, according to the BC Hydro website, and the company said there may be outages it doesn't don't know about.
"Give us a call and make sure we know you are without power," spokeswoman Gillian Robinson told CBC News early Wednesday.
The most affected area were around Powell River on the Sunshine Coast, Campbell River on northern Vancouver Island, 100 Mile House in the Interior and the Fraser Valley.
Robinson said repair crews were down to individual streets, although downed trees and poles made it hard to reach some areas.
At the height of the outages on Monday, close to 200,000 homes and businesses were without power in the province. The power company estimated that about 20,000 customers were without service by Tuesday night.
