A student from Cape Breton University has been charged with damaging the school's soccer field.
Police said Wednesday the 23-year-old student is scheduled to appear in court in January to face a charge of property damage under $5,000.
Police were called last week after someone drove a car in circles on the soccer field, causing ruts in the surface.
The incident happened just days before CBU was to host the national university women's soccer championship.
