The Canadian Wheat Board

The Canadian Wheat Board is releasing to the public, a report of the Auditor General of Canada on the CWB. This 'special audit' was requested by the CWB Directors and was conducted over the last two years. It examined the CWB's financial accounting and reporting systems, as well as the corporation's management systems and practices.

Participating in this News Conference (from the CWB's Headquarters in Winnipeg) are; Ken Ritter, Chairman; Greg Arason, President and CEO of the CWB; Ms Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; officials of both the CWB and OAG; and local news media representatives.

Controlled by western Canadian farmers, the CWB is the largest wheat and barley marketer in the world. As one of Canada's biggest exporters, the Winnipeg-based organization sells grain to more than 70 countries and returns all sales revenue, less the costs of marketing, to Prairie farmers.
