Final payments in the mail next week
Winnipeg -- Farmers will receive final payments for wheat, durum wheat, feed and designated barley marketed through the CWB during the 2001-02 crop year over the next two weeks. The amounts recommended by the CWB and announced last week have received final approval. These final payments represent the balance of the money owing to farmers after their grain has been marketed through the CWB, and after operating costs have been deducted.
This is the second year that the CWB has issued final payments before mid-December. The earlier issue date is part of the CWB's ongoing commitment to responding effectively to farmers' cash flow needs. Direct deposit payments will be credited to farmers' accounts on December 10, 2002. Final payment cheques will be mailed out starting on December 13.
Final payments, in dollars per tonne, for the base grades in each pool account are listed below. The total payment is based on the value of grain in store at Vancouver or the St. Lawrence.
