October 12, 2004

Winnipeg - The CWB today announced that 28 students in agriculture programs at the universities of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Lethbridge received its 2004 undergraduate scholarships.

All recipients are enrolled in their third or fourth year of study in agriculture; third year students receive $1500 and fourth year students receive $1750. Students are selected by their respective universities based on academic performance.

"The CWB Scholarship Program recognizes academic excellence and achievement," said Ken Ritter, Chair of the farmer-controlled board of directors. "Over 700 students from across Western Canada have received scholarships since the program was introduced in 1976."
