Commonwealth Memorial (Pusan)*Note: There have been recent changes to the Korean alphabet. For example, Pusan now reads Busan and Kapyong reads Gapyong. In order to maintain historical relevance, the older versions of the names are used in this article. In the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Pusan, Korea, stands a memorial to Commonwealth soldiers whose burial places are unknown. The inscription reads: 1950 1953 The Memorial is of stone on a low base with bronze panels listing the names, 16 of who are Canadian. The cemetery is a place of peace and tranquility. More than 10,000 trees and shrubs, donated by many countries, have been planted to enhance the beauty of the site. Canadians in Korea, 1950-1953 ![]() |
