Communications & Public Relations

Communications & Public Relations is in charge of all communication with the public, including media. The department:

  • Manages strategic communication, media relations and issues management.
  • Produces press releases, fact sheets and background information.
  • Monitors and analyzes media coverage.
  • Maintains a database of media and stakeholders.
  • Produces the Official Languages Report.
  • Oversees adherence to the Official Languages Act.
  • Manages all external and internal communication and special events.
  • Prepares speeches for senior executives; coordinates briefings for the CTC President and Chairman of the Board.
  • Coordinates CTC Intranet and website content.
  • Creates strategic communication plans, media relations and issues management plans.
  • Distributes industry information (Tourism Daily News, Tourism magazine).
  • Hosts the CTC’ s annual media event, GoMedia Canada Marketplace. Canadian travel organizations get their chance to tell media one-on-one about Canada in a fast-paced “matchmaking” format. The CTC produces this event with the Travel Industry Association of Canada.
  • Offers travel assistance to qualified media on assignment–we cover travel, airfare and transport expenses–often in-tandem with partner sponsorship.
