Experience history through the Historica Heritage Fair

Ottawa, Ontario, March 29, 2007 — The Canadian War Museum is proud to host the 2007 Ottawa Historica Fair. This annual regional fair showcases 165 projects by students from local and private schools in several of the region's school boards. History and heritage enthusiasts will present their projects about historical events, milestones and achievements, and Canadian heroes. During the fair, a selection of student projects will be chosen to represent the Ottawa area at both the Ontario Provincial Historica Fair in Ottawa in May and at the National Historica Fair this July in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Throughout the day, students will participate in hands-on workshops where they will make a simple Morse code machine, witness a musket demonstration and learn about sculpture as a means of commemorating Canada's military past.

Historica's Heritage Fairs Programme is a multi-media learning initiative developed to increase public awareness and interest in Canadian history.
