David Cronenberg's latest production starting at Austrian movie theatres in December - The Austrian premiere of David Cronenberg's latest film Eastern Promises (UK/Canada, 2007, 96 minutes) is shown on December 6 at the Filmmuseum, which presented a complete restrospective of the work by the Canadian film director David Cronenberg in 2003 and has included several of his films in its collection. The film is set in the milieu of the Russian mafia in London and casts a disturbing look at sex trade, murder, violence and corruption.

Chamber music festival Mariazell organized by Lena Fankhauser - For the second time, Canadian viola player Lena Fankhauser organizes a Chamber Music Festival in Mariazell (October 26-28, 2007). The program includes a matinee for children and master courses for young musicians.

Cirque du Soleil, arena produktion "Delirium" by Michel Lemieux and Victor PilonCirque du Soleil in Vienna - For three days (October 22-24) Cirque du Soleil will present its arena production Delirium, a mixture of music, dance, theatre and multimedia, at the Vienna Stadthalle;

Canadian film “Monkey Warfare” at Viennale 07 - The feature film program of Viennale 07 includes the production Monkey Warfare by Reginald Harkema (Canada, 2006, OV, 80 min.), recommended by APA as the “charming and humorous hit of the Viennale”. Will be shown on three evenings, in the presence of the film director (October 20, 21, 22) at Kuenstlerhaus Kino.

MAPA: Sharon Booth & Youri de Wilde@Nicole RivelliLes Ballets Jazz de Montréal in St. Poelten/Lower Austria - The 12 person ensemble from Montreal, who celebrated its 35th anniversary last year, offers modern jazz dance combined with intruiging visuals and cool beats. On October 20 at 7:30 p.m., Festspielhaus St. Poelten, Grosser Saal, will feature two productions: Les Chambres des Jacques by the young Canadian choreographer Aszure Barton and Mapa, a piece by the Brazilian choreographer Rodrigo Pederneiras (Grupo Corpo). On October 19, the group will offer dance workshops concluded with a school performance. On October 21 the St. Poelten art cinema Paradiso will round off the Canadian presence with a cinema breakfast featuring the Canadian film Die große Versuchung (La grande séduction) by Jean-François Pouliot.

Caf‚ Sperl by Andrew JuddExhibition opening and book launch by Andrew Judd - An art exhibition with paintings featuring Viennese cafés will be opened with the launch of the book entitled The Painted Café by Andrew Judd, October 1, 7 p.m., Café Sperl. The pictures can be seen resp. bought there until the end of 2007.
