SDPP-D Call for Proposals 2008–2009
The Social Development Partnerships Program-Disability Component is currently accepting applications for project funding until November 28, 2007.
The planned Program budget available for this Call is $3 million. To facilitate the review and selection of proposals there are two funding streams:
Only one application per organization per funding stream will be accepted.
Overview
Human Resources and Social Development Canada's mission is to build a stronger and more competitive Canada, to support Canadians in making choices that help them live productive and rewarding lives, and to improve Canadians' quality of life.
The Social Development Partnerships Program- Disability Component (SDPP-D) seeks to:
- Increase the effectiveness of the not-for-profit sector in meeting the social development needs and aspirations of persons with disabilities.
- Improve the quality and responsiveness of the Governments of Canada’s social policies and programs.
Grants and contributions are used by the SDPP-D to support activities that respond to the evolving needs of people with disabilities. Whether it is improving services, promoting accessibility or increasing understanding of the situation of people with disabilities, the funding allows the Department to support not-for-profit organizations’ efforts that identify and test best practices and innovative tools; create knowledge and information on trends and concerns affecting Canadians; foster networks; improve coherence and national coverage of issues while responding to local needs and conditions for program and service improvements; and improve the quality and responsiveness of the Government’s social policies and programs.
The SDPP-D provides financial support to well-planned, results-oriented projects designed to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
