Public Prosecution Service of Canada Annual Report 2006-2007
This annual report, while covering only a few short months following the creation of the PPSC, charts our progress and chronicles our accomplishments to date.
The Federal Prosecution Service Deskbook
Federal prosecutors are guided by the rules and guidelines included in the Deskbook, a publication created by the former Federal Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice Canada.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is the federal government department responsible for prosecutions on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada.
The PPSC was created by the Director of Public Prosecutions Act on December 12, 2006, when Part 3 of the Federal Accountability Act came into force. The new department replaces the former Federal Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice.
The PPSC, a new organization of the Government of Canada, is independent of the Department of Justice and reports to Parliament through the Attorney General of Canada.
