John J. Ryan
President and Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for the strategic leadership of Farm Credit Canada (FCC), John Ryan joined FCC as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1997. John has been instrumental in creating a high-performance culture at FCC, earning the corporation eighth place among Canada’s 50 best employers in 2006. The corporation's customer loyalty and market share have increased significantly during his tenure. John is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University. Prior to joining FCC, John was Chief Operating Officer at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).

Deeply committed to community involvement, John served on the board of directors for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation from 1999 to 2005 and was board chair in 2002 and 2003. John has worked extensively with the United Way of Regina, serving as a co-chair in 1999, chairman in 2000 and as chair for the 2001 Leadership Campaign. He also led the CEO Challenge for Habitat for Humanity in 1998 and 2001. From 2000 to 2006, John served on the board of the Regina Adult Learning Centre. In 2002, John was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of his significant contributions to the people of Canada. The following year, John was presented with the Leon Leadership Award from Canada’s Commissioner of Official Languages for his work in promoting both official languages in the workplace. In 2004, John received the EXCEL Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). This international award recognizes a CEO who champions effective communication throughout his or her organization.

Moyez Somani, CMA, MBA, FCMA
EVP and Chief Financial Officer

Moyez provides leadership to FCC's financial function and has direct responsibility for the Credit Risk, Treasury, Finance and Venture Capital, Portfolio Management and Audit and Integrated Risk divisions. He is actively involved in the local community, serving on the executive of the provincial council for CMA Saskatchewan as First Vice-President, and on the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.  He is also a member of the Investment Committee for the AgriFood Equity Fund and a member of Financial Executives International as well as the National Council of Financial Executives. In 2004, Moyez was named a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA), a national honorary designation and the highest honor bestowed by the society to its members. Moyez brings over 20 years of senior management experience in the financial service sector to FCC.

Greg Stewart, P.Ag.
EVP and Chief Operating Officer
In his 19 years with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), Greg has gained extensive experience in operations and risk management. Since 2002, Greg has been responsible for the overall management of Farm Credit Canada’s national operations, including sales and marketing. During this period the company’s portfolio has nearly doubled to $12 billion and FCC has enhanced its customer service and evolved its sales focus.

A professional agrologist, Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Greg volunteers as a member of the foundation board for the Adult Learning Centre and the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity.

Dan Bergen, P.Ag.
VP, Operations - Western Ontario

Responsible for overall management of operations in Western Ontario, Dan has worked with FCC for more than 30 years. He has held various positions throughout the organization including Account Manager, District Manager, General Manager of Agriland and VP, Operations - Prairie. Dan is a Professional Agrologist and holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Darren Bly, P.Ag.
VP, Partners and Channels

Leading the development and management of strategic partnerships and business channels, Darren is responsible for FCC Alliances, Customer Service Centres, Cash Flow Financing and the Business Process Management group, which includes e-Business. Since joining FCC in 1986, Darren has held various management positions in the areas of Alliances, Credit Risk Management and AgriLand, the former properties division. Darren holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan and is a professional agrologist.
Lyndon Carlson, P.Ag.
VP, Marketing and Product Development

Responsible for marketing, customer relationship management, enterprise & market research, product development, AgriAssurances (insurance), AgriSuccess (knowledge and training) and AgExpert (agriculture software solutions). Lyndon has over 20 years of experience in several areas of agribusiness. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.
Alain Gagnon, P.Ag., MBA
VP, Operations - Quebec
Joining FCC in 2000 as a District Manager, Alain is now responsible for the overall management of operations in Quebec. He has almost 20 years of experience in agri-food and agriculture sector lending and is a member of the Order of Agrologists of Quebec. Alain holds an MBA from the University of Quebec at Montreal and an Agriculture degree from Laval University.
Kellie Garrett, ABC, MA Leadership
Senior VP, Strategy, Knowledge and Reputation
Responsible for corporate strategy and priorities management, knowledge management/strategic intelligence, corporate communication, brand, customer experience and innovation, Kellie is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) with a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. Kellie is passionate about voluntarism and serves on the following boards: Past Chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Research Foundation, Vice-Chair of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation and a Director of the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. A regular speaker on topics ranging from leadership and strategy to personal brand, Kellie also counsels parents who receive autism diagnoses.
Rick Hoffman, CMA
VP, Finance and Venture Capital
Rick is responsible for leading the controller, portfolio accounting, enterprise reporting and venture capital functions of the corporation. Rick joined FCC in 2000 and has 20 years of financial and management experience in the agriculture sector. He is a Certified Management Accountant and a member of Financial Executives International. Rick is a past member of the Accreditation Committee for the Society of Management Accountants and is an active volunteer in community sports programs as a minor hockey coach and various other capacities.
Michael Hoffort, P.Ag.
VP, Operations - Prairie
Michael is responsible for the overall management of operations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Beginning his FCC career as an Account Manager in 1988, Michael previously served as Vice President of Partners and Channels, Director of the Customer Service Centre, Manager of Business Process Reengineering, and has held several other posts within the corporation. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a professional agrologist.
Greg Honey
Senior VP, Human Resources
Responsible for all aspects of HR and national administration services, Greg possesses more than 20 years of human resources experience. He oversees Human resources and Administration policies and direction for the 1,200 FCC employees across Canada. He is a member of the Conference Board Human Resources Executive Committee (West), the Human Resource Management Association and has been involved with the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and the Canadian Human Resource Planners throughout his career. Greg has a B.Ed. from the University of Regina.
Rémi Lemoine, MBA, FCI
VP, Credit Risk
Responsible for the Credit Risk division, Rémi has over 10 years of experience at FCC. Since joining FCC, Rémi has held various management positions in the areas of operations, customer service and alliances. Rémi holds a BBA and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick and attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Directed Studies in Agricultural Economics. Rémi is active in local community and sport organizations.
Paul MacDonald
Senior VP and Chief Information Officer
Paul MacDonald, a member of FCC's Executive Committee, is responsible for Information Technology and Enterprise Architecture at FCC. Since assuming responsibility for the Information Technology function in 2004, Paul has led the transformation of FCC's IT organization through the introduction of a wide range of new enabling information technologies, services and processes to innovate how FCC delivers services and products to its customers. Today, FCC is at the leading edge of IT best practices.

Paul has been with FCC since 2001 and has held prior senior management roles in operations, most recently as VP, Alliances and Business Services. He has an M.A. (Economics) from Queen's University and a B.Sc. from the University of P.E.I. Before joining FCC, Paul held the position of Vice-President at Ipsos-Reid, one of Canada's leading market research firms. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Regina and is the Chair of the Board's Resource Development Committee.

Sophie MacDonald
VP, Enterprise Integration
Sophie leads Farm Credit Canada's business and technical transformation, a multi-year program that includes the deployment of our redesigned customer origination, loan management, loan origination, collateral management and service fulfillment processes as well as enhanced e-business capabilities. The program supports FCC in the delivery of extraordinary customer and employee experiences. Sophie has over 12 years of experience at FCC and has previously held management positions at FCC in the areas of Enterprise Integration and Innovation, Information Technology, Lending Operations, and Risk Management. She holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics degree from Laval University.
Faith Matchett, CMA
VP, Operations - Atlantic and Eastern Ontario

Responsible for the overall operations in the Atlantic and Eastern Ontario regions, Faith joined FCC in 1999 and was most recently a District Manager in London, Ontario. Previous to FCC, she held accounting and controller positions in the construction, mining, printing and agriculture sectors. A Certified Management Accountant, Faith holds a business degree from the University of New Brunswick and has been very involved with the Girl Guides.
Corinna Mitchell-Beaudin, CA, CFA
VP, Portfolio Management

Corinna is responsible for the loan administration, corporate credit policy, and portfolio risk analysis, pricing and management functions for FCC. She previously led FCC's Treasury division and has several years experience working in corporate finance and audit. Corinna holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. Corinna is a member of the City of Regina Pension Investment Board and Financial Executives International.
Clem Samson
VP, Operations - Western
As VP, Western Operations, Clem is responsible for overall management of operations in Alberta and British Columbia. Clem received his post-secondary education in the areas of Business Administration and Finance from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina and brings 17 years of experience with a chartered bank. Since joining FCC in 1999, Clem has held various positions in credit risk and district management, and was most recently Vice-President of Prairie Operations before assuming his current position on July 30, 2007. Clem is very involved with the 4-H movement and is presently a member of the "4-H Foundation of Alberta Legacy Fund Committee".
Joy Serne
Senior Director, Culture
Joy leads the recently formed Culture team at FCC, taking responsibility for a variety of corporate-wide programs including organizational and leadership development, official languages, diversity, culture, employee experience, orientation, change management and workforce planning and analysis. Joy previously held positions throughout FCC including in the areas of operations, Human Resources, Re-engineering and IT. Most recently, Joy served as executive assistant to the CEO. Joy holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.
Don Stevens, CFA, CMA, MBA, P.Eng.
VP and Treasurer
Responsible for funding FCC's portfolio, asset/liability management, corporate cash management, and market risk management, Don has a background in engineering, finance and treasury.  Previously, Don served as VP, Information Technology and VP & Controller.  A Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Management Accountant, he holds an MBA from York University, a B. Engineering from Carleton University and is a professional engineer.
Brad Strom
VP, Enterprise Architecture
Brad is responsible for the technical vision and road map, including infrastructure (telephony, network and servers), data, security, and applications for Farm Credit Canada. In addition, Brad is accountable for defining and enforcing the Information Technology division's internal controls (audit, security, disaster recovery, and data integrity/transaction management). Brad has been with FCC since 2005 and has held prior leadership roles in IT, most recently as Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Carleton University. Before joining FCC, he held senior consulting positions with PWC Consulting and IBM Business Consulting Services. Brad has also worked in the United States, South America and the United Kingdom for SHL System House, implementing Geographic Information Systems for telecom and utility clients.
Ross Topp, CA
VP, Audit and Integrated Risk

Responsible for internal audit and integrated risk, Ross has been with FCC for a number of years. He has held various management positions in areas including e-business, business services, business process reengineering, innovation, financial management and corporate reporting, and portfolio accounting. Ross has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Accountant.

Louise Yates, MBA
VP, Strategy and Customer Experience

Louise is responsible for corporate strategy, project management office, strategic intelligence, customer experience and innovation. This Saskatchewan farm kid enthusiastically joined FCC in 1999 and has managed Brand Management, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. She and her husband operate a small business, and she has over 20 years experience in the private, public and co-operative sectors. Louise holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Vocational Technical Education. She is passionate about serving her community and is very involved as President of the Regina Humane Society.
