K. (Rai) Sahi

K. (Rai) Sahi was appointed to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada on April 21, 2005, for a three-year term.

Mr. Sahi is Chairman and CEO of Morguard Corporation, one of Canada's largest real estate companies, a position he has held since January 1991.

K. (Rai) Sahi has over 30 years of business experience in Canada covering a broad range of industries, including insurance, commercial banking, manufacturing, transportation, automotive, and most recently, real estate.

Mr. Sahi began his career by selling life insurance and mutual fund products for Prudential Insurance of America, from 1971 to 1976. From 1977 to 1982, he worked for the Bank of Montreal, combining his career with further financial studies, which led to his designation as a Certified General Accountant.

K. (Rai) Sahi has invested in such companies as Consolidated Fastfrate, Kingsway Transport Group, Acklands Limited, and Carquest Canada. In January 1991, he became Chairman and CEO of Acklands Limited.

Mr. Sahi is a director of Morguard Corporation, Morguard Investments Limited, Morguard Residential Inc.,Tri-White Corporation, Clearlink Corporation, and Revenue Properties Company Limited. As well, he chairs ClubLink Corporation and is a trustee of Morguard REIT. He also serves as governor on the Canadian Unity Council – Ontario Regional Office.

A graduate in Economics, Mr. Sahi was named Turnaround Entrepreneur of the Year in 1994.
