Official Release of the 1973 Cabinet Documents and Conclusions

Ottawa, September 23, 2004 - Library and Archives Canada will release the Cabinet Documents and Conclusions of 1973 on Monday, September 27, 2004. This event takes place at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Topics include the 1976 Olympic Games in Montréal; trade relations between Canada and the United States; bilingualism in the public service; conflict of interest guidelines for Ministers and Members of Parliament; policies relating to Indian claims, to Canada's oil supply, and to regional development; the Food Prices Review Board; and access to public records.

These documents will be held in the main reading room of Library and Archives Canada until Friday, October 8. Members of the media who wish to view them must first obtain a research pass at the registration desk in the main lobby, open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Digitized copies of the Cabinet Conclusions will also be available on the Library and Archives Canada Web site at www.collectionscanada.gc.ca. From the main menu, click on ArchiviaNet and scroll down to Government of Canada Files to access the Conclusions.
