  • Housing Market Outlook — Canada
    Each quarterly edition assesses Canada's housing markets, with two-year national, provincial and local forecasts of housing starts, resales and house prices, and the outlook for key economic indicators. Don't miss the five year outlook on housing starts in the second quarter edition and a renovation outlook in the third quarter edition.

  • Housing Market Outlook — Major Centres
    Spring and Fall editions contain an updated forecast of resale and new housing market trends for each of Canada's major centres. Also includes an analysis of key economic indicators.

  • new Housing Market Outlook — Canada and Regional Highlights
    Available commencing May 2007

    Ideally suited to users who want high level, ‘at a glance information’ on housing market trends and forecasts. These quarterly publications are available for Canada and five geographic regions. Regional highlight reports contain key forecast information for each province and major centre in the region. In addition, an annual publication covering Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Iqaluit is available.

  • Housing Now — Canada
    Two of CMHC's popular publications, Housing Facts and Mortgage Market Trends have been combined into one new monthly report entitled "Housing Now — Canada". This new publication is being introduced as a result of receiving feedback from clients to make our housing and mortgage market information easier to obtain.

  • Rental Market Reports — Major Centres (Annual) — Enhanced
    CMHC's Rental Market Reports are available for major centres on an annual basis and cover in detail the Fall Rental Market Survey results. Each publication includes detailed statistics, in-depth analysis, and a forecast. New in 2006, for some centres, the content of the report is enhanced with secondary rental market information.

  • new Renovation and Home Purchase Report — Major Market Highlights (Annual)
    This publication highlights the key trends, analyses and statistics from the Renovation and Home Purchase survey results. This is a survey of more than 5,000 households per centre, asking respondents in ten centres about renovation activity: St. John’s, Halifax, Québec, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Respondents in Halifax, Montréal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver were also asked about home purchase activity. Everything you need to learn about Tomorrow’s Customers Today.

    Detailed data table reports for all centres surveyed are also available.

    The Renovation and Home Purchase survey is an updated and expanded version of the Consumer Intentions to Buy or Renovate a Home Survey which was conducted until 2006.

  • Consumer Intentions to Buy or Renovate a Home (Annual) — Product discontinued in 2007
    Information previously contained in CMHC’s Consumer Intentions to Buy or Renovate a Home series of publications can now be found in the Renovation and Home Purchase reports. The Renovation and Home Purchase survey is an updated and expanded version of the Consumer Intentions to Buy or Renovate a Home Survey which was conducted until 2006.

    A survey of approximately 4,000 households per city, asking respondents about their plans for purchasing or renovating within six cities: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montréal, Halifax and Ottawa.

  • Housing and Demographic Trends (Montréal and Québec)
    These reports present an overview of the principal demographic issues that have marked the Montréal area and the Quebec census metropolitan area (CMA) housing markets in recent years and that will influence these markets over the next two decades.

  • Analysis of the Resale Market (Quebec Region) (Quarterly)
    Everything you need to know about the changes to the resale market in your sector. You'll find the latest information on resale levels, average prices, listings and much more—ideal for those looking to buy or sell a property.

    Separate reports are available for Gatineau, Montréal, Québec City, Saguenay and Trois-Rivières.

  • The Retirement Home Market Study (Quebec Region)

    These annual surveys of all private retirement homes in the province’s six census metropolitan areas are an indispensable source of information for all decision-makers, developers and investors interested in this sector of the housing market. They are conducted every fall, and include a comprehensive breakdown of rents and vacancy rates according to building type and size.

  • Ontario Retirement Homes Report

    The Ontario Retirement Homes Report gives you the province-wide picture, all in one invaluable resource, so your regional retirement sector decisions will be informed ones. This annual report contains comprehensive and detailed survey findings by market area. It includes a breakdown of rents and vacancy rates according to building type, size and market zone, vacancy rates and per diems by bed type, new supply and vacancy rates by rent range for private beds, capture rates, and rent distributions.

  • Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Condominium Report — Product discontinued in 2006
    Commencing in December 2006, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Condominium Report information will be included in the Toronto Rental Market Report. The 2005 version of the Condominium Report is still available. The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Condominium Report is an ideal resource for comprehensive sector-specific statistics for the condominium market in all regions within the GTA. The2005 report contains the number of new registered condominium apartments, units available for rent, and subsequent rental vacancy rate by sub-market. Data is reported for Toronto, York Region, Peel Region, Halton Region and Durham.

  • Market At A Glance (Prairie Region) — Product discontinued in 2007
    Commencing in May 2007, CMHC’s Market At A Glance information for Brandon, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Wood Buffalo / Fort McMurray will be included in the Housing Market Outlook – Prairie Highlights report. Information for Yellowknife will be included in the Northern Housing Outlook report.

    True to their name, Market At A Glance annual reports provide top-level information for fast absorption and assessment, giving you CMHC’s latest assessment and forecast of the specific regional market “at a glance”. They include a housing outlook and analysis of the new home market, resale market and rental market for each centre, and also provide an economic outlook.

    BC Seniors Housing Market Survey gives you comprehensive province-wide data for all retirement facilities in urban areas with a population over 10,000. You get in-depth data and analysis of unit counts, rents and vacancies in Congregate Residences and bed counts, fees and vacancies in Care Facilities for the Vancouver/Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island and Okanagan regions.
