Canada's Innovation Strategy

Since the Government of Canada balanced its budget in 1997-98, it has pursued a vigorous effort to fund research and innovation. In February 2002, the federal government launched its innovation strategy which aims to move Canada to the front ranks of the world's most innovative countries.

In its quest to achieve excellence, the Government of Canada has built on the investments already made in research and innovation, to make essential research and technological expertise available to firms of all sizes, and to facilitate access to venture capital financing.

This site contains a wealth of background information on the Strategy, as well as on positions put forward by interested parties, in support of the Strategy's objectives.
