Projects
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) funds projects in a hundred developing countries around the world.
On CIDA’s website, the term “project” may mean a wide range of very varied activities.
CIDA-funded projects may last from a few months to several years. CIDA may invest thousands or millions of dollars in these projects.
CIDA plans some projects and has executing agencies carry them out. CIDA financially supports other projects, but Canadian or international partners design and execute them. Other projects may involve direct funding to organizations or governments in developing countries.
These projects meet specific standards outlined under CIDA’s various programs.
The Project Browser is the most complete source of information about CIDA projects. It contains profiles of projects executed in a hundred countries. Profiles are available by country, sector, status and number. A search tool, by keyword, allows more advanced searches based on the users’ interests.
The Project Browser does not contain all of the projects that CIDA funds. Other lists are available:
