European Galleries
The NGC now has more than 350 British wood engravings and woodcuts dating from 1900 to 1950. The collection has been recently enriched with the gift of two works by Paul Nash, Hanging Garden 1923 and Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods) 1925, given by the artist to the Canadian wood engravers John Murphy and Cecil Buller, and donated to the Gallery in 2006 by their son, Dr. Sean Murphy.
