CANDU Services offers design, supply, commissioning of tritium removal facilities. These services are based on AECL’s more than 50 years experience in the development of proprietary hydrophobic catalyst technology for the removal of tritium. This hydrophobic catalyst is the foundation of many important process applications for the removal and cleanup of tritium from contaminated water. The technology has been chosen as the reference process design for the Heavy Water Upgrading and Detritiation Facility (HWUDF) for the advanced Neutron Source Project under contract from the U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE).
