The Registry of the Competition Tribunal launched, on July 8, 2005, its "E-Filing" application which will allow you to securely file your documents electronically from your computer over the internet.
To begin using the Competition Tribunal E-Filing application, you must register with ePass Canada to obtain a user name and password. This is done by clicking on the E-filing link located above in the menu bar. Click on Register with ePass and enter the required information.
Once this has been done you will be automatically returned to the Competition Tribunal E-Filing website where you will complete your user profile. Once you have successfully submitted the profile information, the Registry will review the information provided and confirm access to the service by e-mail or telephone within 24 hours or the next business day.
You may then file documents electronically. Before doing so you may want to review the checklist provided within the E-Filing system which sets out the information you will be required to provide to complete the filing.
The difference that sets the Competition Tribunal above other organizations that have similar applications, is that this solution is end-to-end. It comprises electronic filing, electronic hearings, and information dissemination. The hearing room of the Competition Tribunal has been modified to allow for the electronic viewing of documents during the hearing process. This allows for a reduction in paper use, a reduction in the amount of time devoted to paper handling and easy access by participants to documents and information.
